HOW DO I EARN POINTS?
 
Students are eligible to earn up to 5 extra points on their 1st quarter English grade:
•For the first book project, students will earn 2 points.
•For the second book project, students will earn 3 additional points.
•You may earn up to 5pts toward your grade in ELA!!!
 
FOLLOW THESE 3 EASY STEPS…
 
•First, read a book.
•Next, complete a project at home OR complete an essay at the library.
•Then, meet with an evaluator to discuss your project or essay.
•Finally, get a completion slip from the library and have a chance to win a welcome back basket at your school!
 
DISTRICT SUMMER READING PARTICIPANTS
 
•May use any age-appropriate title for points
•Must complete a project or an essay at the Lockport Public Library or during the first week of school (September
•May earn up to 5 points
What books can I read?
You will be able to read any book of your choice. Book lists and many age-appropriate titles are available at the Lockport Public Library and posted on the district’s website.
 
WHAT IF I NEED A LIBRARY CARD?

Your first library card is free of charge. You must present identification that includes your name and current address. You may use a recent report card or a piece of mail that you have received at your home that has your name on it.  Parents must sign a form authorizing the issuance of a library card to a child under the age of thirteen.  Replacement cards are $1.00. There is no charge for updating information in the database or for renewing expired cards. If you forget your library card, you may check items out with another valid form of identification such as a driver's license.
